Stellenbosch Based concern is seeking to employ a system administrator to assist in the maintenance of their infrastructure. The position requires the following admin skills:
Key Requirements:
- 5 – 10 years Extensive Linux / UNIX skills (Networking and Storage)
- Qualifications in Cisco, Oracle Certificate, Red Hat Certificate Engineering
- Familiarity with databases and automation (MySQL, Postgres)
- High availability and fail over scenario’s, load balanced environment’s
- Strong working knowledge of storage environment (SAN, NAS)
- Strong Networking Skills (TCP/IP, Routing, traffic shaping, Fault finding, Cisco Routers)
- Familiar with Monitoring Software
- Sun Microsystems Solaris Experience (Installation, maintenance, Admin, ZFS)
- DBA an advantage
- Software experience with Apache, Tomcat, PHP, postfix, LDAP
- Proxies (Squid)
- Troubleshooting
- Virtualisation (VMWare, ESX)
- Disaster Recovery
- Firewalls (Iptables)
- EnterpriseBackups
- Windows Domain administration (Active Directory)
- CCNA
- DNS, Radius
- Mail Server Administration (POSTFIX).
- Monitoring and maintenance of servers and services
- Administrative scripting
- Plan and expand current infrastructure
- Analyzing system logs and identifying potential issues with computer systems
- Introducing and integrating new technologies into existing data center environments
- Performing routine audits of systems and software
- Performing backups
- Applying operating system updates, patches, and configuring changes
- Installing and configuring new hardware and software
- Adding, removing or updating user account information, resetting passwords ect
- Documenting the configuration of the system
- Troublshooting any reported problems
- Ensuring that the network infrastructure is up and running
