ICASA Local Loop Unbundling hearings: keeping you informed

This is great work guys! I hope this is the start of a time in our history when people get mobilised to such an extent that the pressure on these guys is unrelenting!

will we be able to download recordings of the hearings. Obviously with live streaming a person misses some of the presentations and for primarily ego related reasons I want to rewatch Telkom's answering of my question.

The recordings will be available on YouTube. The first few are already available here.
 
Huge thanks to Mindset and LTN for making this a reality. It was really helpful to be able to stream the presentations, and to be able to look back on the presentations that were missed.

It would be great to be able to have this set-up at all ICASA hearings with a public interest.

I wondered the same thing. I'm really looking forward to receiving some financial journo training sometime in the near future so that I can understand under what circumstances Telkom is allowed to make so-called "forward-looking statements."
 
I assume the uploads will be complete presentations and that the making of soundbites will be done by other people ...

And ja headline business news - Telkom shares surge today because of the SK news ... I wonder if the traders and investors have read Telkom's doom and gloom for Telkom predictions if LLU is brought about and the fact that LLU will happen.

Also true. I think a clip of that should be sent to CBS - South Africa's communications and internet regulator participates in Suit Day
 
Ensuring access to future events/hearings

I'm worried now... those angry Telkom faces directed towards the LTN camera mean only 1 thing... trouble... What are the changes of them blocking access in the future, i mean - what can we (consumers, myBB, LTN, etc) do to ensure we have a right to access these future hearings/events...

I think they will seek to oppose live streaming and so on at public hearings. Sadly the law isn't really with them on this one although the public commission must put in measures to avoid a media circus and disruptions. ICASA should probably adopt the practice directive applicable in the SCA with the necessary change to allow questions from participants in live streaming.

Thanks to everyone involved in the live streaming of the event. I unfortunately missed the Telkom Q&A on Thursday and can't wait for that video to be uploaded.
