Hi guys.

I'm not usually someone that complains about things, but I'm really not very happy with 8ta and their connections after 12:15am in the mornings.

Last week it happened 3 times that my connection will drop at around 1:10am and then it won't connect again till 1:40am. Last night same thing... Full signal and just disconnects for no reason at 1am. When trying to connect it goes to HSPA for 2 seconds and then disconnects. I've tried everything from a system restore, uninstalling 8ta dashboard and deleting the modem and re-installing it. nothing helps.

My issue is I'm not fooling around playing games all night, but I'm actually downloading my Cambridge study materiel that I pay for before I download. The downloads are big and I cant resume it more than 3 times, otherwise I must pay for it again and try to download it again! I understand if there's maintenance on the servers or whatever the case is, but PLEASE LET US KNOW! Just a notification on the website or something.

So far I've lost almost 6GB of data unusable files that's been uncompleted. And on top of that I'M PAYING FOR MY FILES!!! Its R750 every time I buy my modules! I'm fed up with "saving money" by going to the 8ta network

I've emailed all my details to [email protected]... NO RESPONSE....

I've tried calling the data customer support line... USELESS...

I went in to the 8ta shop in Woodlands Shopping center over the weekend... "eish, probably something wrong with the connections...." :wtf:

Here's my details if someone of 8ta sees this post:
Address: Hornbill rd, Douglasdale Johannesburg
8ta number: 081 448 7542
Modem: Huawei E367
Windows 7

I cant put in a land line because I'm traveling often. What do you guys think?

Someone should come up with insurance for unreliable connections.

Thanks 8ta, you cost me almost R1000.00 this month, and I'm sitting with not much to show!!!

I have been having the same problem, it has been particularly bad since last night, disconnecting/connecting often even this morning.

I run 8ta data in two locations with external antennas and the connection is rock solid. It may be worth your while to invest in one. Even MTN and Vodacom in my area (Craighall, JHB) are dodgy without an antenna.

My signal shows full and it is also rock solid during the day. It only happens after 12:30am in the mornings. But will have a look at those anyway. thanks

I saw the same thing last night after midnight - multiple dropouts - tryed 2 differant software connectors with 2 sets of drivers & 2 differant modems , i'm also 100% signal.

I don't get it.

You travel a lot so you need the 8ta, but then you always download when you are at home.

Or is the signal bad like this where ever you download from?

Hi
We did forward your query to technical support.
Thank you
8ta

I live in an area where there is no signal according to their system, but I have a rock solid connection.

Same according to their system im not covered but i get almost full modem speeds, do notice that the connection is a bit unstable at times.

I have 2 android that I'm using as modems i.e. tethering. The LG P500 that I got on another 8ta contract drops the connection 5-10 times a day and it does not automatically recover (I have to disable data and then reenable it which is a pain because I place the phone up high where it gets a strong signal). The Vodaphone 845 only drops the connection once or twice a day.

Will 8ta fix the LG if I take it back to them ? If it takes a long time, I want a speed stick on loan.

Hi, you can take the device back to place of purchase.
They will need to book it in.
Unfortunately, the stores do not provide loan units.
Thank you
8ta
