These ANCYL CLOWNS do anything for a soapbox.
 
They are definitely clowns ..but seems the press loves those clowns gives them something to report
 
They are expressing their support of a vicious dictator who accumulated billions of dollars in wealth and oppressed his country for over four decades. So dictatorship and oppression is fine as long as you are also anti-imperial. What about economic freedom in our lifetime, with wealth running into the billions of dollars? :confused: He was a dictator and the country was not a democracy. How can they express support for him?

Some funny-bunny ANC big shot said on the news tonight that broadcasting the killing of Gaddafi was a form of Imperialist barbarism... or something along those lines.

So, are the Muslim "brothers from another mother" now suddenly Imperialists? All I saw was a bunch of Libyan feet kick'n the shyte out of that ex-comrade corpse...
 
Do you people really think, Libya is going to be a better and more peacefull country for all their citizens, without "the monster". I am not going to entertain you with a mindless war of words. Let time be the judge. I will post my next contribution in here in exactly 12 months.

I was thinking along the same lines. There are already signs of disagreement between the factions of the NTC and with so much weaponry freely available all that is required is a little spark to fuel another civil war.

I think for those guys to get any sort of closure they had to kill him, sadly the country is in tatters and the world bank/imf is about to sink their teeth in as well. With all the armed "revolutionaries" about i doubt this will turn out well, in a few years time it will be interesting to see people talking about how much "better" Libya was under Muammer....

Yes. It’s probably for the best. If he was left alive, he would have been removed from the hands (and justice) of his victims and become a political pawn – maybe even able to trade for indicting others. It all would have been done in the “revolutionaries best interests” of course but they wouldn’t have seen him again. This direct form of justice can be seen to be done. It frustrates the fat cat politicians (which is a bonus) and removes an opportunity for pompous pontificating. I think it was an inadvertent smooth move.

Any other scumbags should be treated the same. A few slaps and a bullet in the head. Simplifies life.

Yes, I'm not sure that he should have been killed. However, after 42 years of dictatorship, I can at least understand why he was killed. The country is now free, but I think it will take a (long) while before it has been rebuilt and stability has returned. The point is that they can now move in that direction, whereas before it was all but impossible. I read an article where a 20-year old Libyan fighter was "joking" that he could now consider running for president at some point in the future; that was unthinkable 6 months ago. Certainly the celebrations across Libya is some indication of how happy the Libyan people are that they are now free of his tyranny.

In Tripoli, joy over Gaddafi's end spilled into a second day as thousands converged on central Martyrs' Square for Friday prayers and celebrations. Men danced and hoisted the country's new red-green-and-black flag.

I suppose by "better" we could understand that Gadaffi's long grasp on power brought a form of political stability in a way, in other words Libyans got the same result for 4 decades of one man's rule. I personally think if it was not for all the oil money Libya would have done something about Gadaffi a long time ago, but the oil riches (minus Gadaffi's share of course) were pumped back into the country in infrastructure and development as there was just so much of it. How much money can one man/family use?
Saudi Arabia is similar in a way, the top elite are filthy rich, but there is enough money from oil to pump back into infrastructure and social development without setting off alarms among the masses, so basically people on the ground are perhaps none the wiser or just happy with the way things are.

Our own county is lacking political stability, the ruling party is divided in the way of the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing and each individual with his own financial/political agenda. One could extrapolate that certain Libyans now that Gadaffi is dead have their own set of financial/political agendas, there is all that oil wealth at stake, positions in Government to fill and who knows maybe after all the dust has settled and in a few years hence you may well hear stories of other Libyans on the take and a new set of greedy politicians at the helm. So is the world.

Our country has probably the best, most advanced constitution in the world that prevents a similar situation from developing, but alas it is only a piece of paper.
 
A news report on the radio reported that some analysts claim that the Gaddafi fortune may be in the region of $150 billion, including 144 tonnes of gold. Steve Jobs "only" managed to accumulate around $7 billion.
