I've been on hold for 25 minutes now, waiting for a consultant so that I can cancel my TI data. Gotta love their estimate though, "an agent will be with you in 5 minutes"... its a sick and twisted joke.

So, anyone know how else I can cancel?? Not my line, just the data.

Found this with a whole list of numbers, not sure how regularly its updated, but there are a few more you could try.

Wow...

So its actually impossible... I've tried multiple options, noone apparently has "access" to the the cancellations system? And noone answers the phones when you get transferred.

So this is how Telkom does it - "Sign up for 3 months free ADSL, and then you can NEVER cancel!"

I always find the Telkom Direct store is the best option. Still frustrating, but it's a lot less frustrating, and at least you have someone to give a dirty glare to.

I find it concerning, activitions/sales answer immediately... but accounts and cancellations make you wait...

Putting my philosophical hat on, I guess its indicative of the business world - always chasing the new customer...

To be honest, I personally had no problem using 10210. I called that number last week Wednesday morning 8am, and logged 2 calls, after holding for less than a minute.

1. To cancel my old tellephone line - was done within the same working day
2. To install a new point on my new tellephone line, still waiting on this one, but I expected to wait 1-2 weeks on it.

Only reason I called 8am, was I was on my way to work, and thought let me call quick while its tollfree on the landline at home.

The best trick i usually do is to call 10210, then push 2 for new customer, and then you get through instantly. Make as though you through to the wrong department and tell ur whole sob story to the "impecibally trained staff" and most likely they'll help you straight away.

Although I have to say having been through the process a few times this year, Telkom call-back has been amazing, you phone telkom at 10:00, the voice prompter estimates like 18 minutes of waiting, u say call-back and tell it to call you back on your cell, and at within the hour, that call does come through.

At least the system works, not as well as it should, but appreciate that there are hundreds of thousands if not millions of customers for them to deal with so cudos for having a working system, it's alot better than some of the other service providers (non communications-based)

Yesterday i phoned 10210 to cancel my TI (from the free DSL Trial) and upgrade my line to 4mb. I asked them to phone me back when im at the front of the queue (the option they give), it actually worked! twice might i add. The lady whos name i cannot remember was awesome, she cancelled bandwidth immediately and my upgrade was done within 1 hour.
