Last year I discovered that, when travelling overseas with international roaming, unsolicated welcome SMS's received from local networks are charged for by MTN. I am out of the country 2 or 3 times per month and, when on automatic network selection, this can be extremely costly (as much as R40 per day!). Nashua, the service provider in this instance, are prepared to credit but MTN will not acknowledge that this practice takes place. Has anyone had any similar experiences and, if so, how was the issue resolved?
