Hi All

I need to run a list server for some of my clients. At the moment I'm using an ISP and Mail Man, but was wondering if there was a way to host the app on my local server.

I've got ADSL 512 with two accounts - one at MWeb and one at DataPro at the moment.

Also running dynamic dns from mylinux.org. However, I'm anticipating that the problem will come in with anit-spam systems not liking dynamic IP addresses. Is there a way of obtaining my own IP address which runs in a similar way to dynamic dns - but is not "dynamic" from the recipient server perspective?

In other words - my server sends out mail from MailMan to another online server which is tracking my dynamic IP. This server in turn sends the mail out with a fixed IP address which is not black listed.

Now I know this could probably be done with the existing ISPs - but they are going to limit the number of mails I can send out. Which is a bummer when I've got, say, 2 500 opt-in subscribers.

A static IP adsl will cost you around R1350 a month - is that really cheaper than you Hosting ISP cost?

Why do you want to have the hassle of hosting your own server?

We offer a 192k Uncapped package, with 1 Static IP at R499 per month.

Once off Setup - R1500

Month to Month contract. Maybe that might work?
