I want to download this (250MB) and in the 'book' category - but it's free?
Has anyone downloaded this at all? Is it the book?

I'd guess so by the size - but 'free' makes me wonder ....

Which iTS? US?

EDIT - the only two free things I see are podcasts and in the app section (which probably means an in-app purchase for content).

I'm on the Kenya store.

I'm wondering why it's so large and free?

EDIT : Also in the US store
 
Well, if its free, just get it.
Weird at that size though. Unless you don't mean the iBookstore and instead mean the book section oft the App Store (Which is a dodgy section of the app store)
 
I can't download more than 20MB ... and I've been curious since Saturday.

Was hoping someone here may have already got it and could tell me if it's the free book or collection of photo's or something

Its a collection of photo's. The ebook in the iBookstore is less than a mb

It's the preface, intro, and the first chapter, after that you can purchase the additional chapters through the app.

Yeah, it's the book equivalent of trialware. Not a bad idea though I already own the book so I didn't the purchase necessary. I would be great though if they were upfront about this more. One thing that pisses me off about the iStore are the free* items. Easiest way to work that out though is if there is another item which you have to pay for.
