Bust your ass and get rich!

Make a boatload of money. Pay your taxes. Lots of taxes. Hire people. Train people. Pay people. Spend money on rent, equipment, services. Pay more taxes.

When you make a ****load of money. Do something positive with it. If you are smart enough to make it, you will be smart enough to know where to put it to work.

I don’t care what anyone says. Being rich is a good thing. Not just in the obvious sense of benefiting you and your family, but in the broader sense. Profits are not a zero sum game. The more you make the more of a financial impact you can have.

I’m not against government involvement in times of need. I am for recognizing that big public companies will continue to cut jobs in an effort to prop up stock prices, which in turn stimulates the need for more government involvement. Every cut job by the big companies extracts a cost on the South African people in one way or another.

Entrepreneurs are needed to create and grow companies to absorb those people in new jobs. If entrepreneurs don’t create those jobs, the government ends up having to spend more money to help them one way or another.

So be Patriotic. Go out there and get rich. Get so obnoxiously rich that when that tax bill comes , your first thought will be to choke on how big a check you have to write. Your 2nd thought will be “what a great problem to have”, and your 3rd should be a recognition that in paying your taxes you are helping to support millions of South Africans that are not as fortunate as you.

In these times of “The Great Recession” we shouldn’t be trying to shift the benefits of wealth behind some curtain. We should be celebrating and encouraging people to make as much money as they can. Profits equal tax money. While some people might find it distasteful to pay taxes. I don’t. I find it Patriotic.

I’m not saying that the government’s use of tax money is the most efficient use of our hard-earned capital. It obviously is not. In a perfect world, there would be a better option. We don’t live in a perfect world. We don’t live in a perfect time. We live in a time where the government plays a big role in an effort to help lead us out this Great Recession. That’s reality.

So I will repeat my point. Get out there and make a boatload of money. Enjoy the **** out your money. Pay your taxes.

It’s the most Patriotic thing you can do.

Don't come here with more logical tendencies! Agent!!

You forgot the part of where in order to make a success of your business, you need to give more than half of it away to someone else simply because his skin is black. Not because he deserves it.

Good article. But remember when you are in the top 25% of earners and pay 86% of the country's taxes some people will lump you with a few dishonest businessmen and declare your riches the product of ill gotten gain. They will riot and declare your tax contributions too small and ask that the rich pay more than 86% of the country's taxes without realizing it they are asking for exactly that. In the meantime the bottom 50% of earners who pay only 3.6% percent of the country's taxes will ask for free education and healthcare and claim your status as a rich man is proof the world needs to turn to socialism. :D

But don't worry about it, because in your heart you will know that about 80% of everything being done is being done with the money of people like you, which means you are contributing after all. :D

awaits the inevitable counter post

Very good point, was thinking the same thing a few weeks ago, all the americans bitching and moaning about Buffet not paying enough taxes. His company employs 232 000 people! How many taxes do they pay? Would they have jobs without him? People really need to get over themselves and start working their way up in the world instead of complaining about the people who did.

Nice informative article... Seems to be a bit lacking in MYBB of these lately

Good artical and i agree 100% . but it burns my A$$ when some politician steals or wastes the tax money

Absolutely brilliant article. People seem to forget that there are thousands of beneficiaries behind each stinking rich guy. The more rich guys the more things improve for everyone.

This is exactly why South Africa is going downhil. Somehow the government, thru blatantly racist, so called "affirmative action" policies, managed to chase lots of rich people away. And at the same time opened the borders to countless numbers of poor people. On the other hand look at Australia - they did the exact opposite thing, compared to the South Africans and are enjoying now a very high living standard!

I have implemented a profit-sharing incentive in my business. The employees who could understand it have become more productive and now earn more. Those that could not, asked for loans against their increased earnings which they thought they would have become entitled to since their co-employees were receiving them. So far, however, no-one has resigned and all eagerly await the quarterly figures. Some of them elected to invest their extra money in a SATRIX 40 fund which I set up and has given consistent returns even since 2008.

B0ll0cks that!

Methinks that should be the 2nd command'mint of patriotism :P

1st. Dont take kak from your government, stand up against their injustices, greed, wickedness and corruption in their effing self proclaimed high places, burn a flag if you have too, Dammit!

but hey, they got us by the short and curlies, so hey lets just make money and pay taxes, mmm, maybe our taxes will work for us, yea it it works just like headwind

Over n Out
Igs

As for being “patriotic” by paying more taxes: I understand what you are trying to convey, however, you are espousing giving more money to the most dysfunctional part of the economy, the ANC government, and giving it more revenue will definitely not solve the problem.
