i don't know if this forum the the right one for thism but you guys all seem dead clever so i thought i'd give it a go.

I recently purchased a Wi-Fi USB Dongle/Connector for my Nintendo DS so i could play it online, however halfway through the installation it tells me "you are not connected to the internet" when i clearly am.

I was advised to set up a new connection. I tried this method:

Network Connections > Create New Connection > Next > Connect to the Internet > Manually > Connect using a broadband connection that requires a username and password > isp name > username + password > Finish.

However when this connection is attempted, it goes through the WAN miniport rather than my modem. I am using Wannado broadband in the UK (not AOL).

I also tried to do the above but with a dialup connection, which simply creates a connection identical to my own, and when i try to install it still tells me "you are not connected to the internet".

So, any takers on how to sort this out or point me in the direction of someone who could (i've asking Nintendo already to no avail)?! I would be very greatful!

THANKS!

Does the DS have PPPoE capabilites? The way I read it, you are trying to connect to Internet via ADSL dialup.

If you have a modem and DS can support it, thats cool.

But maybe you have a router? And therefore you just have to enter the right network settings (ip address, netmask, gateway) and that should do it.

i don't know what PPPOE stands for/means!

Also im not connecting through a router. thanks. i've been trying for days!:(

tried it yeah! to no avail! and tried ringing nintendo, but they couldn't figure out the WAN Miniport!

i just reaised i said WiFi miniport up there ^^. i meant WAN.
