Hakintosh WiFI Dongle or PCI Cards ?

Hey Hey

Any Mac Hakintoshers out there ? Need some advice please.

My brother is running a Hakintosh, has been for 8 years or more... recently updated to latest Lion release and now cannot get a wireless USB dongle to WiFi PCI card to work.

Any suggestions or recommendations ?

Interesting, apple have only been using intel for 6, not sure how you can hackintosh for 8...

Edimax USB 2.0 Wireless N Adapter, supposed to be compatible.

He was running a U-Max Pulsar / something or the other, and then some virtual Mac OS, before the Intel switch. So you are indeed correct.

Will pass on the Edimax thing... thanx.

EDIT: Oh, I see it is hackintosh , yoops... not hak-intosh.

Just a thought...

What about a mini-PCI to PCI adapter and then slotting in a notebook wireless thingy ?

From my very limited Mac knowledge and google attempts, I would think that a compatible Macbook / Pro wireless card in one of these things should be easier to persuade to work... and find ?

Another thought... forget PCI / USB and go for a bridged Ethernet route ?

What if he uses a Mac Airport Extreme via Ethernet in bridge mode to connect to the current wifi router ?

He likes mac stuff... and would like the idea of a real mac Airport sitting on his pseudo pro.
