Afaik the plan is you have the option to pay a higher price for your electricity per kwh. The higher price you pay subsidises the higher cost of renewable energy. So as far as finances go the electricity you consume from the grid is supplied to the grid from renewable resources.
 
I would love to get a Nissan Leaf. 160 KM would be more than enough for me and if I go on long trips we can use my Fiancées' 1.9 TDI Polo
