ADSL scene unlikely to change in SA

I thought it was 800% more!!
I think it is taken from here: "If we could open up the market though, prices should drop by between 50% and 80% within a year." Slightly more accurate :D

Even so we'd still be paying an exorbitant amount. After that sort of reduction where would we place on the international rankings?

Most likely exactly the same spot as we occupy now.

Drop the Line Rental FFS  ... then maybe things would start to make more sense

SA boasts 268 ADSL providers, according to Internet service provider, Web host and Web designer directory ispza.com.
That is unfortunately incorrect. South Africa has probably a quarter of that. 268 is the number of web host packages available. The amount of ISP's is 55, but doesn't indicate what technology it is. There is a minimum of 62 ADSL ISPs in SA, but definitely not 268.

I saw that too ... must have been a typo on his side ... we have just over 100 providers on the DB right now ...
mmmk.. was going on what the front page reckons, ie 55..
