Sentech betting on broadband

About time

I remember asking them about this a few years ago... but funny thing is "CT JHB DBN etc". So much for great coverage. Won't hold my breath

Yeah right.Anything that does not come with dates and full commital statements have to be considered gab

Yeah, their coverage is a big problem. I live 2kms from the Radiokop tower (Sentechs main hub), and cannot get a signal, since I am in the shadow of a hill.
I even had a sentech techie up on my roof, and he could not believe it.

Coverage is the single most important thing to get right, followed by stability and speed.

Interesting that Sentech is focusing their money and efforts on two areas:
- More coverage. Fair enough, more coverage means more possible clients.
- Marketing. Yes, maybe some people don't know about the product.

BUT:

As usual though Sentech is missing the critical ingredient needed to make MyWireless more than a mediocre alternative to Telkom - improve the actual product!!

If I were them, I'd be looking at dropping chunks of that government-bummed cash into upgrading international bandwidth and massively improving their national network links - with the goal of providing higher caps and 2Mb/s packages ahead of the HSPDA crowd.

Unless Sentech increase bandwidth, they will be left behind and continue to suffer the ongoing problems of insufficient capacity.

Marketing will only get you so far in product take-up, and as soon as people realise they've bought a lemon, your marketing will never get them back.
Coverage is worthless without the right product offering and a decent network to support it.
