Don't know if anyone noticed, but Emirates have some good prices on ticketes to Europe. So, impulsively I bought two tickets to Vienna, Austria. 27/04 to 13/05, paid R8800 (two tickets, incl tickets, taxes and levies).

Now, I have been to Vienna before (in 2004), so I definately want to spend a few days there again, but I also want to go explore a bit further as well.

So far, I'm thinking: Vienna->Prague->Budapest->Zagreb/Dubrovnik->maybe Venice->back to Vienna. Or perhaps Vienna-> Prague->Berlin->Munich (been there already)->Salzburg (been there already, I think it can be seen in a day)->Vienna

Any suggestions / recommendations ? What would you do / where would you go ?

I like option number 1. 2 places I would love to visit are Prague and Dubrovnik...

Cool impulse buy, lol. Enjoy it!

Awesome...Prague is a must...stunning architecture..take a cruise on the Vlatva River, Charles bridge, Karlstejn castle and the the sex machines museum...have a great trip

Just wanted to say thanks for the heads up, booked myself a ticket too :) to Istanbul though.

This sounds like a fun place to visit: View on Map.

(had to use TinyURL because the language filter on this site messed up the link, it takes you to Google Maps)

So far, it seems Dubrovnik may be a bit difficult logistically, but I'm still researching options.

Considering what this trip will ultimately cost me, I do expect some pay-back from the wife ;-)
