Honestly Speaking I am tired of our Governments useless lip service. All they do is talk. The fcuked the electrical grid up. The busy fcuking the Telecoms networks up. There's no such thing as service delivery in this country. All budgets setup by Government departments are being stolen. WTF!!!!

And the worst part about all this is that we can't do anything about it!!!!
 
What I don't get is why they make announcements about making announcements. Why not just make the frigging announcement. Next they'll be making announcements about them making announcements about announcements. Will the lunacy ever end!
 
While he would not provide a date, Naidoo said that draft report containing the policy announcements “are being considered by the director-general” and that they are based on the deliberations of the working group formed after the colloquia on the high cost of SA telecommunications which took place in October last year.

I seem to remember some ludicrous statements made by the DoC's director-general in a Financial Mail interview last year about building hospitals with government's Telkom dividends and saving Telkom jobs by not introducing competition.

I can't see how this ninkempoop Shope-Mafole will do anything that won't be beneficial to Telkom. :(

She may never take a cent home if one had to add to the Holiday Travel Fund the Millions lost to the Western Cape, because of Government policies, especially the decision taken in 1998/9 for a Moratorium on the building of new Power Stations when Phumizile was Minister?
The Moratorium was only lifted in 2003, a whole 5 years later. One would have thought that after a year or perhaps 2 even that the Moratorium was counter productive?
And this person may be our next President?

Pardon my ignorance but doesn't Telkom have to ask ICASA first if it can raise it's prices. How about next time they do that ICASA says "No, and drop them by 60%" instead of rolling over like a trained dog?

There I solved the problem. Can I be deputy president?

Telkom's a heck of lot more sneeky. They dropped the Nov 1st 2005 bomb when ICASA was threatening to regulate the pricing with the draft findings. Then (actually ICASA said this when the numerous complaints were flooding in at the time) they pulled the SAIX-is-a-separate-entity-to-Telkom trick where only Telkom telephony pricing is currently regulated and not the bandwidth prices... something along these lines.

EDIT: Anyways, all I know is that I'm paying a heck of a lot more AND have gone from 30GB to 20GB to 10GB (SAOL) and now finally to 5GB, crimping my broadband experience as I go. To the point where it's no longer a pleasure to use the internet with me constantly having to monitor how much traffic I've used. I'm not keen to fork out more dough for an already seriously overpriced service.

Well at least when Telkom drops prices(on the few occations) they do itas promised mostly (subject only to icasa delays) unlike the gov's imminent interventions which mostly seems like a mirage
