Hopefully Cameron doesn't really mean this. Of course as someone speculated in the comments section on News 24, Cameron might want the ANC to think they're doing a good job in order to get more highly-skilled immigrants from SA to the UK.

London - British Prime Minister David Cameron on Sunday hailed South Africa's ruling ANC as a "beacon for the world" in fighting discrimination and oppression as the party celebrated its centenary.

"On behalf of the British people, I want to congratulate you and everyone involved with the African National Congress on this very special anniversary," wrote Cameron in a letter to South African President and ANC leader Jacob Zuma.

"The African National Congress has been a beacon for the world in the fight against discrimination and the struggle for freedom from oppression - it stood up for the rights of all South Africans."

"It is incredible to see the changes in South Africa that the ANC has helped to bring about," he added.

As well as celebrating the legacy of its first 100 years, the ANC should be "looking forward to the challenges of the next," said the Conservative premier.

The second day of the centenary celebrations in South Africa on Saturday featured drums and the ritual slaughter of a bull before a gala dinner attended by more than a dozen African leaders.

Of course Cameron will congratulate him, his country has benefited significantly from the ANC's rule. England saw the import of some of the best Doctors, Engineers, Lawyers, Teachers and they didn't even need to invest 1 cent into SA for this.

a big eye opener having a conservative pm of britain congratulating the anc like this, time for yall to start asking some questions.

Just another politician retard. This country is a prime example of what is wrong with Africa. Funny when you are looking at all the pictures from the 'celebrations' none of the leaders are smiling. They are all too busy badmouthing and backstabbing each other.
 
As long as the Brits play nice the black south Africans will never believe whom their oppressors were. Clever I say.

Amen to that.

The only difference between the ANC and the previous apartheid government, is that the ANC do not use "Blacks Only" signs. The racial discrimination laws have been penned and approved, just like in the old days.
