A lot of people online do not seem to understand what the Punish option for a team kill is there for. Its NOT to be used if one of your team accidently kill you. Its to punish someone if they intentinaly kill you. IE, they strap C4 to your helicopter, you take off and they detonate.

You get killed often by your team mates... its war... bullets go everywhere, grenades and mines take out team members. Stuff like that happens in war, accidents happen. In facts, WarGeeks actually have an official TK ranking system ;)

Simple concept. DONT PUNISH. You should hardly ever have to use this function... if you are a Page Down junkie, chances are you are a **** in real life.

Thing that pisses me off the most is when some idiot drives over your land mine, and then punishes you. Basicaly you are been punished for that players stupidity (red skull and crossbones marks the mines for your team, so you have little exscuse).

What I love about WarGeeks, is there is a "no-punishing" rule. The Uber Grand Council of the Wargeeks realized a long long time ago..... ;) that punshing is lame.

Thank goodness. In real life, Dawins theory of natrual selection would have dealt with someone driving over a marked mine. Online, I laid two mines in the middle of the road near no obstacles so my team could see it clearly. Some idiot spawned next to me, jumped into a jeep, hit the first mine, then punished me... he spawns again.. jumps into an APC and the punishes me again!!! Thats like -20 points! I just quit the game I was so pissed off.

Are you sure? A small communist biting insect dumped a whole bunch of mines in Ghost Town that seemed to blow up friendlies. Maybe it didn't give the option to PTK.

And that actual raises another disturbing trend or conspiracy theory. It seemed that the placement of the mines by afore mentioned bug was more of a help to the opfor - the friendly armour was not leaving barracks without a few dents. One little liar on the blue team and a whole brothel load on the red side.

It depends on the server setting.

The problem is that the current version of bf2cc that the SGS admins use to remote admin the server does not support this option (which FF* is set off by default), so they have to manually set it from time to time. They don't always remember to do it.

There's no sign of a new version of bf2cc yet, so this setting is going to be inconsistent for awhile.

Red Skull means bad.
See red skull ... be careful, and if you're the smaktard that was not careful enough, don't punish.

Now ...
1 - When your idiot teammate went and lined all the exits with mines so that you could not get out, well ... then what ?
2 - When an idiot teammate insists on placing claymores around your flag ... then what ?

Sorry but I did punish someone yesterday, but I think I had reason to. Was running toward a few teamies on a humvee and the guy who was last to hop on checked me out I was trying to get a lift. Then this idiot starts chucking nades at me. 3 nades later I'm dead so I punish. BTW No enemy troops for miles! Think it was only the second time I punished someone

Your punish was justified, I am seeing this more and more.

a tank shot would blow up mines in the old 1.2 days... dunno if the hotfix sorted that out since i haven't updated my BF2...
