'morning. we have a new Billion 7300NRE router with ethernet connection to PC and wireless connection to laptop. the wireless network is named and is password protected. i used "simple port forwarding" to try and forward a specific port on the router but instead of opening a port it's added VCI/VDI?? is that OK, or shall i rather go into the router and manually forward a port? problem is, when i tried that it asked for IP addresses :(

Im not familiar with the acronym VCI/VDI....
to forward a port, you will need to give IP address's.
It needs to know where to forward the port to

I think he means VCI/VPI

I think what you would rather want to do is create a PPPOE connection from your pc.
