Telkom offers R9/per share for Business Connexion

I wonder if BCX will really go for it seeing as they have aquired a operator (not sure what type) licence. I somehow dont see some of their major clients like SASOL going for it. + the fact that Sentech wants to outsource some of their functions to BCX.
 
Unsolicited Proposal

Telkom has approached the BCX shareholders directly and presumably does not need to enter into discussion with the BCX board. More that 50% of the shareholders (Alan Grey etc) has entered into discussion allready. This one will actually go through in my opinion.
 
If it goes thru we will prolly see an MBO of some of the non core parts of BCX, for example the SAP outsource side.
 
Telkom's strength has to date been on ICT services relevant to its core connectivity proposition, managed network and internet access

poppycock,,,,, Telkoms strength has to date been its government sanctioned monopoly, nothing else, boggerall.

Not really, I would hesitate to do business with BCX if they are going to become part of Telkom (read inept roll-out's, SLA's not being met, ect ect).

I feel sorry for the BCX employee's.
 
Telkom Business... Connexion

That is assumably exactly the reason why this deal is attractive to Telkom.. upping the technical skills needed to deliver the service levels that will be expected in future.

As with most of BCX's and other outsourcing players, Telkom almost always have a hand in at least the WAN portion of the outsourcing deal. It would therefore be beneficial to BCX to have insight into that portion of the network that has never really been visible to them.

Voilla... better end-to-end service.

Obviously there are BCX clients out there with historical resistance to Telkom who will be tempted to move elsewhere.

Good time I think for the other players ( IS, Verizon.. etc) to start talking to SNOT.

Telkom offers $386 million in cash in hostile bid. That's a whopping 2.43 billion in blood money.

I hope companies outsourcing to BCX leave them in droves
 
Telkom should become an investment firm with all the cash they have lying around.

Telkom buys BCX, ****s it up and all BCX's clients except governmental clients leave. All that money down the drain!
 
My sincerest sympathies to BCX!

Actually, I should be happy! With teklom taking over BCX, BCX down the drain, there's more work for me: pick up the customers and give them real outsourcing services! :D
