my wife updated her iphone4 at the apple store about a month ago. everytime in the morning she reminds me that she doesn't have music on it, i forgot to have a look in the afternoon after work.

now today i finally had a look. i found her old videos and pictures from her old phone and i got the newestish itunes and jumped straight into it. i found out that the music she used to have on her phone is still there (it shows up in itunes under "music" for her phone), but it's showing up as "other" (other is about 11.9GB). i used to have it synced with a windows vista pc, but now it wants an updated version of itunes and that version doesn't want to install, so i'm using my laptop.

i ticked sync music and selected the playlists i exported from her phone and imported to itunes and clicked on sync. it started off the process, then told me it doesn't have enough space. now itunes shows no music on her phone, but other is still 11.9GB.

how the hell do i get rid of that "other" storage? it's starting to really annoy me. on my sgs2 i simply download a small file browser and do what i want, or plug it into my pc and off i go. with the iphone, i can't find a file browser on the itunes store, itunes is retarded and plugging it into the pc only lets me view the photos folder.

any ideas?

Factory reset the phone from itunes. Recopy music.

That's about as good as it will get with apple unfortunently :/

(Buy her a shiney droid as next present. Will solve both your problems :))

Who ever updated her phone ****ed it up..

They probably used their ITunes which will screw things up.
iTunes is fussy like that- you have to use your "iTunes"
