Hey guys,

I just wanted to find out if there is any difference between the 4 meg uncapped accounts from Afrihost and Axxess? From what I've read they are both IS accounts and so should have the same setup and rules?

I'm wondering coz a friend of mine has his through Axxess, but I already have an Afrihost account so it would be easier for me to get it through them.

P.S. Yes, I know these accounts are crazy slow during the day. I mainly want it for after hours downloading, and will use a small capped account during the day.

They are the same.

I'd recommend Openweb GOLD though. Then you'll be able to get rid of the capped day-time account.

The main reason I was leaning towards this account was because a buddy of mine has his through Axxess. It has 2 concurrent logins so him and a friend share it and they easily pull a few hundred gigs every month and haven't had any issues with it.

Also, price is a bit of a factor.

I currently spend R400 pm on my capped account. Now the reason I want to get uncapped is so I can bring costs down, since I will be splitting the uncapped account with my brother since we share a flat. I was planning on getting a couple of gigs for gaming/surfing in the afternoon, and then hammering the IS account at night.

It's really hard to decide who to go with, since they all seem to have issues. I have tried an MWEB trial account, and it was great at first and then surfing speeds went to hell. I would go for Openweb gold but my bro is only willing to pay R250 and that would mean I would have to put in the difference, which is about R500. I might give WebAfrica a go and if it's really bad, cancel it after a month I guess.

You missed the Gold special they had last month. Was R100 off.
