8ta iPad 3GB package, or was it really 3GB....

I got the package for the iPad just to use when I am not in near a wireless network. I have used it very sparingly and today I fire up the iPad and see my data bundle is finished. I purchased the 3GB in the beginning of January.

I have viewed a grand total of 3 youtube vids of about 5mins each and used it for some quick browsing (myBB, news24) and to check mail. As far as I am aware mail that it downloads are headers only so even if there were big attachments it shouldnt dent the bundle that much.

I have to now wait to get home to find the sim packaging so I can register to check usage but it just feels that those 3GB really didnt touch sides. Either there is something wrong from 8ta's side or I really need to learn how to use this iPad

Just go to onnet.8ta.com using your iPad (wifi turned off), you don't have to register to go there.

could've been pro rata bundle for January maybe depending on when you got the ipad?

ipad downloads like mad thing when it feels the need to, best i found is to switch the cellular data part off when you wont be using it. just to be safe.

Thanks, I tried that but it doesn't give me info on data usage, just options to buy more.

It was that 2+1Gb offer so afaik it's open needed till you use the data not a monthly allowance. The thing is the mobile data option on the iPad is always turned off except for the fe times I have deliberately turned it on to check mail or browse the forums. I cannot see how I have used 3Gb already.
