Hi,
Is anyone else using Enhanced Internets Business ADSL offering,
Its not the cheapest offering, but boy is it fast,
They claim a contention ratio of 1/3 and i get constant download speeds of over 100 kbps during peak times from overseas download sites.
Im using a 1mb unshaped line,
Money well spent
Thanks

Actually they seem like a Verizon reseller.
http://www.enhancedinternet.co.za/terms_conditions.html
"The Verizon Network may be used only for lawful purposes. Transmission, distribution or storage of any material in violation of any applicable law or regulation is prohibited."
With some weird spelling of "ADSL Residential Connectivity (Shapped)"

Dangerboy - Can you please do a "tracert www.google.com" from your connection and post the results. I want to see who is the upstream bandwidth provider.
PS: UUNET was bought by Verizon last year. www.verizonbusiness.co.za

Apparently its a new UUNET Unshapped offering, could stand to be corrected,
but connection speed is alot better than my old saix unshapped.

Introducing the First of its kind, ADSL per GB Uncapped.
The biggest challenge faced by companies is the usage cap imposed by most ADSL providers. Enhanced Internet is now in the unique position of being able to offer you the advantage of determining your own Cap. We are also able to offer you a per GB billing model that lets you pay for what you use. This new per GB Billing model will suit most companies whose bandwidth requirements change on a monthly basis. (http://www.enhancedinternet.co.za/internet-connectivity.html)wtf? Any ISP will provide an uncapped service provided you keep buying bandwidth!

Doesn't look any more special than any other ISP.

I guess they mean that u have uncapped and at the end of the month they check on how much bandwidth u used and charge u from that. So no more topping up?
What we looking for is uncapped at a flat rate.

OMFG - $37.95 - or r250 - is what Verizon USA charges for up to 3 Mbps/768 Kbps. Here they're charging us r4275.00 for a 30 gb capped line.
I genuinely could be wrong as my math sucks but is it 1710% higher here? That sort of makes Telkom look like freeking angels.

Thank you for all the comments regarding the website and our offering.
We have fixed up all the spelling mistakes and changed the package layout to try and clear up any misunderstanding.
We have 3 ADSL Solutions currently on offer.
The first is the Verizon Unshaped ADSL solution that is sold in pre bundled packages or on the per GB model. These accounts can be topped up at any stage for the users who run out of bandwidth close to the end of the month.
The second offering is the standard SAIX ADSL shaped offering.
The third offering is our Local Only ADSL that can be purchased on a per GB model or on a package model. These accounts can be topped up at any time of the month.
We have had positive feedback regarding the Unshaped ADSL offering and the speeds that these lines deliver. The reason for the better performance is largely due to the lower contention ratio’s on the lines.
