So one of my Corsair ram modules died yesterday after 2.5 years. It has a lifetime warranty though so I'm thinking I'll try send it back. Since the reseller I bought from (buycomputers) went under a while ago I'm going to have to do it through Corsair themselves. My question is are they going to ask me to post it to the Netherlands or is there some SA supplier/importer/agent/something that can handle it? Cos posting it to EU is going to cost more than the thing is worth I'm sure :P

You can try returning it to Frontosa.

Remember 'Lifetime' is more like the lifetime of the product on the shelves, so it could be out of warranty.

From my experience if it has a serial number sticker on the RAM that refers to being originally purchased from Frontosa, they will consider sending the RAM away to Corsair for a warranty claim.

If there is no sticker, they will not be able to assist you in this regard. Also due to the age of the item, I doubt they will swap the RAM out immediately so be prepared for that eventuality.

I got Corsair Value select DDR400 swapped out like last year, but Wootware had to go out of their way to get it swapped out though, because I didn't buy it from them either.

If it is DDR2, then you shouldn't have any issues swapping it out I suppose.

All right thanks guys, there's no sticker on the packaging but on the DIMM itself there's a barcoded sticker with a number preceded by "FT" <-- is that a Frontosa sticker? I don't mind waiting for it though I can hobble along with 6gb of ram ;) I might ask Corsair if there's any official agent of some sorts that it could be sent to and handled from there.

I sent RAM that was physically damaged and EOL back to Corsair in the US, cost R75 with the cheapest option via Post Office, took 2 weeks to reach them, a week to process my RMA and another week for me to receive the replacement item via UPS courier (Corsair pays for the courier back).

Corsair has the best RMA service in the world! :)

R75? xD not bad :P did you just stick the ram in an envelope? my original packaging is a kit of 2 and probably won't fit in an envelope :\ they say it's best to send with the original packaging. i sent corsair an email and posted on their warranty forums so we'll see what they say :) might be an idea to send it to netherlands after all.

Yeah, R75 with a tracking number. Could probably get it shipped cheaper without a tracking number but I'd advise against it.

I sent it in the original packaging (Was those plastic blister pack things) sandwiched between two pieces of cardboard and in an envelope.

was yours just a single dimm package or a double? but i suppose a larger envelope wouldn't be too much more expensive. and anything near R100 is better than replacing it with a new one for R400.

2 Dominator modules. Only the one module was damaged but I had to send both in as it was part of a kit.

oh wow and it still fit in an envelope :-O think i'll definitely try it this way then. cos i'd still have to send it to frontosa anyways since i'm not bothered to drive all the way down to montague gardens, that's if they'd accept it.

Reviving a dead thread but I tried to send a mouse back to Corsair for a RMA...
You are expected to pay courier costs to Netherlands (over R1100 on a mouse worth R600 odd!)
Its the second time I have had to send the mouse back but last year they gave me a DHL prepaid label...now they say they use onlly UPS...And apparently there is no collection point in SA....? The DHL one was easy, just drop it off at Postnet...

Wont be buying that crap brand again. Unfortunately I just bought a PSU a month ago...lol...

Send me the serial number of the mouse. Unless it's a grey/parallel import and provided it's still within the warranty period I should be able to assist. It's not a Corsair issue as such, they have an established channel in SA for warranties.
