Article: Boycott unsafe drivers: Transport Minister

Commuters who use public transport should boycott unsafe drivers, Transport Minister Sibusiso Ndebele said on Tuesday.

"Passengers must refuse to be transported in a vehicle that doesn't meet the minimum safety requirement standards. Passengers must refuse to be transported in a vehicle that drives at neck-break speed," he told the parliamentary transport portfolio committee.

This dumbass obviously hasn't ridden in a taxi in a long while and has no idea of the level of intimidation carrid out by taxi drivers
I'd like to see him chirp one of those 100% zulu boys that he's driving too fast

Kinda hard to decide to boycott a taxi when he is doing 120 on a highway weaving in between lanes and over the yellow line!

Right so now he has to improve Municipal transport like Putco as there aren't to be any taxi's......... strike strike strike toi toi toi toi

I remember back in the good old days when my friends and I were at a taxi rank, and the taxi marshal accused us of being snobs because we were waiting for a safer looking taxi than the one that was currently being laden. He forced us into an even worse taxi, whose wipers went off each time the driver changed gears :D
So yeah, I agree that he's out of touch with reality.

My suggestion for this is that Ministers should be forced to use taxi's for a month... THEN they can see how it is on the ground.
