CNN commentator gets suspended over anti-gay tweets

Hmm was that really anti gay?I see it as being more anti pink on guys....which is a colour preference really...
a friend of mine wore a pink suit and it doesn't make you look gay seriously it makes you look stupid,most gay people tend to have or strive to have fashion sense and a pink suit is not fashion sense in anyones book!

Are the yanks just touchy?I doubt the SA gay community will get so hyped up about trivial stuff like this....

I agree with you on that i am not sure those comments were anti-gay....but i belive SA is more touchy. look how many adverts get pulled. Don't let me remind you about the KFC and the deaf girl (ok, KFC won that one, but someone in SA complained!).

I kinda feel the same way. I read the article and did not feel it was anti gay as such. I do think this guy is a idiot though and should be taken off the air anyways.

Dont get me wrong. I love pink and I love purple (love my pink and purple golf shirts...hence sexually frustrated gay that I am :-)

I also don't see his comments as being directly gay but the article does say it's a series of comments so I'm guessing he some more than what was shown.

The problem with comments like that though is that is that it furthers the stereotype of what a "man" should be. It may not be a directly gay issue but it does affect people who are gay. They are taunt because they don't fit this macho perception of what a guy is suppose to be. There's more to a man than what he wears or who he sleeps with.

At the same time though the gay rights group is actually stereotyping themselves since they immediately see a comment against a man in pink to be against gay men. Like you said it's pushing the stereotype of what a man should be, hence straight men should be able to like pink. :)
