hi,

can this unit be used to connect to a long range AP? I've got a flat in stellenbosch, and want to hook my laptop up to an AP which is on a hill 2km from my flat. Is this one of those antenna where you set it up and it connects to the AP and i just plug it into my laptop via lan cable or hook it up to a hub?

Hi

The TL-WA7510N has a dual polarised 15dBi antenna so will comfortably cover those distances. It will connect to a "long range AP" providing this AP is running on the 5Ghz frequency, if its a WISP you're connecting to, first contact them to confirm compatibility.

Yes, you'll connect this unit to your notebook or network using a lan cable.
