While the drugs use is hardly surprising, it does give an interesting insight into the man who many worship...

The 191 page dossier was drawn up in 1991, as Jobs was being considered for a "sensitive" position working for George H W Bush, on the former president's Export Council.

The document is based on interviews by special agents with dozens of people as well as meticulous background checks into his past life.

One long-term friend, who had attended college with the future billionaire, provided a scathing portrait, describing him as a: "deceptive individual who is not completely forthright and honest. Jobs will twist the truth and distort reality in order to achieve his goals."

Other acquaintances criticised the Apple creator for abandoning his high school sweetheart after she gave birth to their first child, and confirmed Jobs' own confession to the FBI that he had experimented with drugs in his youth.

The heavily redacted dossier into the FBI Level Three background check was released by the agency yesterday under the freedom of information act. Many of the names and other identifying information contained in it are blanked out.

Summing up their findings, the FBI concluded: "Several individuals commented concerning past drug use on the part of Mr Jobs.
"Several individuals questioned Mr Jobs' honesty stating that Mr Jobs will twist the truth and distort reality in order to achieve his goals.

"They also commented that, in the past, Mr Jobs was not supportive of [redacted] (the mother of his child born out of wedlock) and their daughter; however, recently has become more supportive. Mr Jobs also commented concerning his past drug use."

I hope the iSheep brigade get to read this part :D

Other than that there is no story here. Experimenting with drugs whilst at college is not news at all.

So jobs experimented with drugs in his youth... like most youth do.
He also had a baby as a young man

Sounds like a standard average human then. I don't really like jobs because he acted mightier than thou, nice to see he was just a normal idiot like the rest of the world

So he did drugs?

And he didn't stay with someone for his whole life.....

How is that any different than most people on this planet?

as for twisting and distorting reality to achieve his own goals, also sounds similar to most people around.... he just happened to be in a position of power that he could twist and distort it more than most.

Yeah, I was going to comment that he sounded normal to me.

Isn't it sad that some people have to justify their happiness by dragging a dead man's past through the mud?

Let the guy RIP ffs.

Nice. Just insult people by calling them iSheep. Are you hoping to start another argument on this thread? Simple trolling

 So some people did not like him? He tried drugs when he was younger? O noooooooooooz.....

Unless you believe that Jobs was a god then this piece should surprise you a little less than finding water in the ocean.

What an idiotic story.

Why do people care what he did in his own time, i am no apple fan but the man was a genius and he made apple one of if not the biggest tech companies in the world.

RIP you legend.
