Britons will now be able to tone up their muscles while they eat after a company released a bizarre new cutlery set attached to dumbbells.

The hefty chrome knife and fork weigh one kilogram each - the equivalent of a bag of sugar.

While the spoon measures in at an extraordinary two kilograms, which is heavier than a complete 32-piece set of stainless steel cutlery.

The innovative products, called Eat Fit Cutlery, have been described as good for 'gluttons in need of a work out'. But you'll need to be willing to pay a costly £89.99 if you want to buy the set.

A spokeswoman for Firebox, which developed the products, said: 'This cutlery and dumbbell mix is designed for fitness fans with a sense of humour.'

Fitness expert Erak Simsson, from weightlosscoachandtrainer.co.uk, said he loved the idea of dumbbell knives and forks.

He added: 'This novel idea will certainly get people talking and, if nothing else, raise awareness about fitness.'

'As for its effectiveness, a lot will depend on what's on the end of the fork or spoon.

'A pizza slice alone can contain 250 calories so you'd have to do a lot of exercise to work it off. They don't really address the issue of eating habits.'

That's stupid. Your body isn't supposed to consume food while doing rigorous exercise. As far as I know your digestive system isn't working fully when doing exercise. You need to rest to digest food.
