MTN in bed with Iran's military

This is no different from what the US and UK governments and corporations have been doing for ages. Who's been in bed with the Saudi Royal family helping BAe, Lockheed, Boeing, etc sell weapons by the shiploads despite knowing for a fact that Saudi Arabia is the biggest sponsor of terrorism against the US and UK? Why should SA be acting differently?

Wow! Just think if the US & Britian hadn't overthrown the Iranian Prime Minister in 1953, all because they'd lost control of the Iranian oil? Imagine if the US & Britain hadn't backed the incumbent that allowed the formation of a dictatorship?

This is all the fault of big money, once again, and there is a specific reason that there is a huge anti-Iranian sentiment among the West.

Iran is simply trying to produce energy for its nation efficiently, and I think it is a load of bollocks that countries like the US can cry foul when they have plenty of nuclear plants, and weapons, of their own. It's just a reason to invade yet another country and take control of their resources.

If MTN wants to invest in Iran, so what?
 
nice article .... not sure if MTN is in the wrong ... but just the fact that Aziz was involved, gives the whole thing a funny smell :)

Nope. Not acceptable. But not any worse than what is done in the name of "defending democracy" by abusing the US/UK military to install and protect US/UK business interests.

Let me make this clear (Obama) ... I do not support Iranian efforts to become a nuclear power as their current government is run by dangerous men with a lack of good judgment. We must however not be harder on our own companies than we are on others doing the same.

More than half probably.

Just look at the circus the US is constructing in Afghanistan. Only problem is that the clowns ain't funny. Karzai was made president by fraud and corruption with US help. The US and NATO (ISAF) keep him safe and on the throne. Karzai is a clown (the funny hats are proof) so one must ask why so many and so much must be sacrificed to keep him there. Now consider that one of Karzai's brothers gave up his restaurant business in Chicago to join the poppy business in Afghanistan after his brother became the prez. The poppy business that the Taliban destroyed is now doing very well under US protection. Afghanistan doesn't want US democracy ... never wanted ... so what is the US still doing there? They knew Osama was in Pakistan and got him there eventually ... so why so much going into Afghanistan?
 
It's just MTN trying to get their own - in this world the bottom line is the only thing that matters to most of these guys! They don't really care about the implications of what they do - which is why they've been milking the South African public for such a long time! It's really not a surprise that they have such dealings with Iran - as Bevonk has pointed out, the US/UK have many doing the same thing. All we can hope for is that at some point a person who has a conscience and cares about the consumer he serves, comes into power at these organisations! An almost impossible thing to expect in this day and age! Till such time its the lesser evils that will get my business!

Of course it doesn't. That is just the response given by people too stupid to actually come to grips with the issue.

Another example of this sort of idiot is John Robbie. As soon as someone phones in to point out something he will say that it happens elsewhere. For quite a lot of people it seems fine as long as we're not the last ones on a list.
