Telkom Management's Average Pay R64,000/Month

That Salary is not out of line with the CEO salaries at big corporations. Unfortunately they are Management heavy... as there is 1 manager for every 10 workers....

Not out of line with large companies - yes. However, Telkom CEOs do nothing to earn that salary. Even ripping off the consumer is no big achievement, considering Telkoms privileged position.
 
My neighbour is a telkom manager, i seriously doubt he makes R63000. Suppose i could ask him :)
 
Average means just that you divide the total bill by the amount of people. What would be more interesting is the range of these managers salary. It was published somewhere elese that the chief honcho gets R900, 000 per month. If you subtact this from the total bill and exclude him from the people, the real average salary for this group will drop substantially to R59, 903 per month. There would also be a fairly small group of executive managers earning a princely salary as well, which would reduce the middle management average salary to approximately R20k
