MXit on warpath to block US colonialism

Here's some tips Mr. Knott-Craig:

1) Produce a superior (ie. not cheap) product, I'm not going to use MXit just because it's African.
2) Produce a more stable product, MXit currently is unstable and clunky.
3) Produce a ubiquitous product, I expect everyone I know to be using it.
4) Produce a complete product, I expect proper and complete support for my device and all its features (iPhone 4S) - the same request stands for all other devices.
5) Produce a usable and beautiful product, I expect it to look gorgeous on my phone and in turn to make chatting to people both easy and delightful. I do NOT want messages to never arrive, for chat histories to take minutes to load, for it to replace my keys on my on screen keyboard with its own through some clunky hack that doesn't always work, for people to appear offline when they are not, for the app to randomly crash, for the app to be unable to notify me when a new message comes in... need I really say more?

So mister Knott-Craig, you've got a bit of a lemon on your hands right now, you can either choose to make lemonade or lemon juice, which one is it? (Oh, and really, taking the populist "COLONIALISM" stance smacks of pure desperation).

I wish the americans would come colonialise SA, they have a far more enterprising and dynamic way of making obscene profits, as opposed to the static african gravy train.

I loved the part of open to work with cellular networks, after his dads comments recently, I can see a deal being struck up

The last time I use mXit was during 2006. All the issues mentioned above existed back then.
Sad to see it still exists.

Well if its Him(AKCJ) we putting up against the Americans I'm afraid we all better get ready to be colonized :D

Tharaxis the points you have raised are very well thought out and valid,if AKCJ wants to even have a remote chance of making mxit a successes then these things will need to be addressed quickly and urgently!

I hate it if an app doesnt allow me to use swype on android etc.

MXit on warpath to block American colonialism
I couldn't really read anything of this "warpath" in the article?

We are only interested in Africa, Africa is the future.
So, what makes you think we are interested in what interests you?
Africa is the future of what exactly?

He who wins Africa will win the race…
What race are you referring to?

...if we leave the Americans to get here and take over our networks – it will be another form of colonisation.
Compared to FB, Twitter etc Mxit is small fry. If your network smell of oil the Americans will be here very soon, else, not interested.

Having given the company a year to improve and expand itself...
So if it doesn't improve and expand itself are you going to give it back?
Since you bought the company you are part of it, better get cracking on the improvement and expansion.
Hasn't it struck you that Whatsapp doesn't have commercials, doesn't allow payments etc, and it is successful? Believe me, I will dump Whatsapp the moment it does have commercials.

If I have to choose between mxit and whatsapp then whatsapp it is.

All whatsapp needs to do to make money from people who have no credit cards is to have the regular app free for a year and then give you an option of ad supported or the ongoing subscription that it has now.

American Imperialism is nothing to complain about, America is a pretty nice place when you get down to it. The real thing everyone is ignoring (at their own peril) is the very un-subtle Grorious Chinese Imperiarism going on in Africa

Mxits problem is they fell asleep at the wheel, they completely missed the bus and they are sitting with a bloated app full of useless features that are clumsy to use, seldom work and cost money.

You can get everything from the tradepost using zedge for free, 1 click download instead of 20 million prompts to make sure you want to buy and then still having to leave mxit to actually download it.

Whatsapp wins by doing what the people want, keeping them in contact, constantly updating to ensure it works with all devices, in most cases updates are released within hours of a new device or OS being made available. With mxit you can count yourself lucky if an update is available before your next upgrade, only to repeat the cycle once again.

Why would i choose mxit over whatapp, viber, bbm, ping, that one that starts with a k, when they all have one GRAND PRIZE winning function, push notifications, no need to log in, deal with passwords and rubbish, if you know the person they are instantly a contact, no need to invite with usernames or phone numbers, compared to all the rest mxit is the most complicated Instant Messenger ever developed, its got more rubbish than actual usefulness. Its also the only one i have seen thats full of adverts, i see more adverts in mxit than on my computer with my add blocker disabled. We get it, you need to make money, somehow the competition manages to do it without flooding us with spamverts.

I Used to have dozens of contacts on mxit, ad of almost a year ago not a single one of them wastes time with it thanks to whatsapp and bbm, always running, always available, and always unbloated. Mxit completely ignored the meaning of Instant when they made there "instant" messenger.

If you want people to want your product, make it better than they rest instead of saying its local so use it.

It occurs to me that AKC Jr is standing around with his hands over his ears shouting "Na, na, na, I can't hear you!" rather than look at the real world of messaging out there. BBM, WhatsApp, FB Messenger, Viber, iMessage... What world is he living in?
I recon he and Snr will put a deal in place so that Cell C, via MXit, finance the family's retirement and then he'll abandon ship leaving someone else to carry the can.
