And Telkom will tell you straight off the bat that running a broadband infrastructure with a total of 150 million subscribers is physically impossible.
 
Would have been cool to see a second graph with those numbers as a percentage of the population.
 
...and in other news, Telkom faces another huge fine for non-competitive behavior.

Actually, percent of households is more accurate. Some countries have 2.0 people per household and other have 5.0.

Would also be interesting to see a breakout of business lines vs. residential lines.

Telkom can't even manage those ...
 
How retarded is this? Highest number of subscribers makes you the best? It should be judged on average speed, or percentage of the total population, or something. That's like saying China has the best restaurants because they have the most people that eat.
 
Also if you just read the title somewhat differently, Russia would have to be nr1.

I think population dynamics and GDP plays a big role.
Netherlands,Switzerland,Australia and some oil rich middle eastern countries are not featured makes for some interesting stats.

I don't think you understand what the graph shows. Its the top 10 countries with the most broadband subscribers. Brazil has a population of close to 195 million and less then 20 million have broadband (in terms of subscribers). Its not a whole lot better then us.
 
Oh how I long for the days when these was still a chance, even if slight, to be counted amongst the top 10 of anything. We seem to be slipping farther and farther behind, except for corruption & crime stats of course.
 
RPM, when Point Topic talks about broadband it means fixed broadband. Please make it clear in the article so that MBB members don't confuse this to include mobile broadband.
