I got my dad a black Samsung 793s 17" CRT monitor after his because his Gigabyte Dual Tone 17" one has these slight fluxuation problems (hard to explain) and that ones now in my workshop as a screen.

I love the Samsung, the 0.23mm dot pitch means the images are nice and clear and sharp edged.

I wanted the get 2 997m's but my suppliers don't sell them anymore, I plan to get 3 of these now for my desk.

Edit: Its also priced just same as the other manufacturers screens, but clearly higher quality.

Interesting.

I look at the 793s as a bottom-of-the-range display. The 793DF and 997MB both have a 0.20mm horizontal dot pitch, and, more importantly, flat tubes.

... I'm still not sure what I'm going to go for. :(

Well, it is bottom of the range, but still quality bottom of the range. All the other. The Gigabyte, AOpen and LG bottom range are now very dodgy in my opinion.

The 793DF and 997MB both have a 0.20mm horizontal dot pitch, and, more importantly, flat tubes.

Unfortunately my suppliers dont carry them anymore.
