Opinions on Alkaline Ionzied water, Electrolised Water or reduced water

I'm starting to hear alot about Ionized drinking water as a healthier drinking water option over the "dead water" most of the bottled water companies provide. There is also big focus on this Ionzied water in sports for better hydration and recovery. There is also an industry around Alkaline for health benefits - PH balance your body, fight acidic cancer conditions etc yada yada

If you google this stuff you get alot of opinions anti this but I cant seem to find real documented proof that it doesn't work/help. There are however plenty studies in favor of it. It seems the Ionzied water industry is linked to pyramid scheme type selling structures out of the States which gives it a lot of bad press.

Years ago I wanted to get involved in the bottle water industry but didnt. This is now a new trend overseas and just wondered if South Africans are educated on Alkaline Ionzied Water or have any opinions.

I purposely didnt include any information on the post about what exactly is different about the water and how it works so as not to obscure thoughts/opinions. Maybe later on in the post we get to that.
 
Let me enlighten you to some of the thoughts that crossed my mind.

*paints a picture of a big fat cat sitting in his office smoking a cigar*
"I wonder how I can make more money"
*in comes servant number 98 of 140 with some bottled water*
"Hmmm, these guys packaged water... WATER... and I have to pay almost $8 for it just because it's in a bottle???! Crazy, but it works... they rake it in!"
*drifts off to a half-sleep as the masseuse is busy doing their work*
"WAIT A SECOND, the problem with bottled water is that it's expensive to most people, right?! So how can I sell them something to make their current water be 'better'! Mmmm, the same way I sell my cleaning products! I'll scare them a little and 'back it up' with 'scientific proof' and make millions!"

*runs off half-naked to his R&D and Marketing department*

Please dont tell me you are still drinking dihydrogen monoxide? do you know how harmful that is? Its commonly found in cancer tumours and is the major component of acid rain.

You should drink Ancalagon Brand (tm) Fancy Water - all the right chemicals and none of the bad ones, because We Know the Difference (tm). Patent pending.
 
LoL guys. Its seams most "alternative" or remakes of products are seen as money making at the expense of the consumer. Its a pitty we have been so brain washed because we probably miss out of a lot of really good stuff because of skepticism. Makes me think of Moducare the supplement. There was so much raving about that, but the hype has died down. Does that mean it wasnt all it cracked up to be?

im still waiting to taste a bottle of the ice berg water. apparently ice berg water is the purest water on earth because its thousands of years old.

Thousands of years is nothing. All water on the planet has been around for at least 4 billion years. It has been recycled over and over and has likely been pissed out by a dinosuar at some time. Yes, we are all drinking dinosaur pee.
 
save your money. Have you ever thought about the carbon-cost of bottled water??? It is actually rarely scary. Get yourself a decen water filtratation unit, bottle as much water as you need. Save the money and eat healthier, exercise more and drink less alcohol. No need to fool yourself with ionised water. If people have had 70+ year life span for the past ~100 years, what difference is a label going to make?

Just drink the water out of the tap like everyone else FFS.
I wish I had enough time to worry about absolute drivel like this.
 
The others being complete and utter BS without even a hint a rational thought, I have to ask...

WTF is REDUCED water? Half the O?

Seriously. Concerned citizens want to know!
