Hi,

I tried to download Powerpoint viewer 2010 from the following site and it took more than an hour for me to reach 25MB.

http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/confirmation.aspx?id=13

I was connected with the special Webafrica MyBB account.

I switched to Afrihost and it finished the remaining 20 odd MB in a matter of seconds.

Does anybody know what's going on?

I am also experiencing slow speeds on WA.

I also cannot connect to a web server I am hosting on port 8888 at a client of mine.
However when I dial my afrihost account I connect fine.

I have decided that moving to Mweb at the end of the month is my best bet.

I'm getting the same thing - trying to install VS2010 SP1. I'm using Net Meter to track the download speed and I am getting 10kB/s on a 6mB line. Local sites via www.speedtest.net run at full speed, but anywhere in the US is crawling. Why does it feel like this type of thing is happening more and more on the WA network?

Because it really is.

:(

This is why I am leaving their network. Also their support is far too generic and flow chartie. I expect that level of support from Telkom not WA.

Mweb here I come. WA say goodbye to a loyal subscriber for I think almost 7 years now.

The whole SAIX backbone is screwed because of the EASSY break.. its not WA's (or any other ISP's) fault.

I'm not having any issues with my WA account.... just checked, and it downloads at line speed.

Hey Wyzak,

No reported issues on our side. What package do you have with us?
Have you let our ADSL guys know about this, they'll be able to run some testing from our end to determine where the issue is.

Hi Jeff,

This was my way of letting WA now. I will PM my account details to you, but I doubt it will prove very helpful. I suspect that there are some routing issues on WA's side at the moment and I was interested to see how many other people were experiencing similar issues. I vaguely remember experiencing a similar issue several weeks ago also on WA and possibly also Microsoft related site.

I had to refresh the site three or four times just to get it to even load on Chrome and then the download broke down after 1MB. I started over and it appeared to be doing ok although it was very slow. After an hour and at about 25.6MB it stalled completely. I switched to Afrihost and started over again and it downloaded the remainder in about 20 seconds.
