A packet of 20 cigarettes will cost 58 cents more;
• A 750 ml bottle of liquor (spirits) will cost 6 rands more;
• A 340 ml can of beer will cost 9 cents more and a
340 ml can of cider will cost 8.84 cents more;
• A litre of wine will cost 18 cents more;
• General fuel levy increases by 20c a litre, and the Road
Accident Fund levy increases by 8c a litre;
• Electricity levy increased by 1 cent / kWh

Relief at the top tax bracket is in the region of R400 a month.
Fairly sure the restructure of tax relief on medical aid contributions more than wipes that out though?

pretty sure from what I have seen the poor will be suffering nicely thanks to the sin taxes..

By the same argument that for example Cape Town won't have to pay for our road upgrades in Gauteng, surely Gauteng motorists should get some rebate seeing we're going to be tolled instead?
 
I am curious as to whether or not losses on gambling can be claimed? If it is regarded as carrying on a trade then it has to be, if its only on winnings, thats surely unfair?
 
The new message if you read between the lines is 'spend, don't save'.
