Hi

Would like to buy one of these puppies, but are not sure if the standard is supported by Telkom:
http://www.play.com/play247.asp?page=title&r=ELEC&title=619883&p=540&g=698&pa=stgts6

- It supports the European cordless telephony standard - DECT.
- Are there any limitations to the type of dual phones i can buy for use in SA / Hellkom ?

Many thanks
Giles

Look around the forums ads many people are selling dual phone in SA.
Work really well and a good addition if you are using skype alot.
Dect is the cordless standard used in SA as well as europe.

I brought a European Dect phone to SA last year (Not skype!!). It worked fine for OUTGOING calls but did NOT RING for incoming calls.
The ring of the standard SA phone did work when connected both phones and you could answer using the Dect phone.
It seems the ring signal in SA is different from the European system so it might not work for incoming (line) calls.
