I need to buy a laptop. A Sony Vaio.

I'm interested in the Vaio SA - Something. i7, 8gigs of RAM, SSD, etc.

There is no stock at the Sony store. They tell me it will take about four weeks. Can anyone reccommend a good online store that has good prices and service and might have stock?
 
Although Sony store might not have stock the distributors that buy from Sony might still have stockpiled.

Regarding the service. Ask for you nearest Sony workshop. The dealer can supply you with telephone numbers addresses.
Sony has repair agents across the country and you could take you laptop there directly, sidestepping warranty support via dealer and maybe saving you some courier fees.

In terms of screen size, resolution and videocard, price range what are you looking for. I can maybe recommend you one.

Googling product codes will give the best result.

I'm looking for a small, light machine. 15" is about a good size. Hi-rez screen. Core i7; a fast clock speed is preferred over quad core. I was looking at 8Gigs of RAM; more would be nice. I like the idea of an SSD; I have a server machine at home, so space is not a priority. And a killer workstation-type GPU. Basically I need an ultraportable that I can use for heavy CAD work. 3D modelling, etc. No games.

I also want very good build quality. I even went to the iStore to see about buying a Macbook Pro and putting Windows on it, but by the time you've added RAM and popped in an SSD, you're heading towards R30k!!

R20k is about my max.
