Quite a few people asked me to post a review/benchmark of my old card against the new one and, because I'm such a nice guy, here it is.

For starters: no, I'm not going insane (I was insane all the time :D ), I didn't have a 5200LE, I had a 5700LE! There are times when I'm not a total putz, this year doesn't seem like one of them. O.o

After running a 3DMark benchmark on the card though, I've come to the conclusion that it must be just as crap.

The results are actually scary!

I'd call that a good and proper WHUPPIN'!

My review: the 5700LE is crap, the 6600GT is not.

now imagine you spent all that money on a new CPU & Mb.You probably would have got a increase of a few hundred pts if that, not 5000!!!

I will do a similar review on friday. Radeon 9600xt vs Geforce 7900GT:D

I would LOOOOOVE to see what World of Warcraft looks like on this, but the flippen European servers are down... again...

Edit: I might throw a 5200 and a 6600 (non gt) through their paces too, since they are coming through on way their into PC's I'm building...

yeah man, you cant compaire crap you bought somewhere else to stuff you bought from me :eek: Now hears the real test. What did you pay for the 5700 ? and what did you end up paying for the 6600GT ? :D
 
@Luke: LOL! Well, it proved that the 6600GT is by far better than the 5700LE.

I eventually managed to get onto WoW last night and MAN oh MAN! What a difference! Everything is shiny and cool and smooth and did I mention shiny? It rocks! Tried to play Doom3 in Ultra Mode, but I think that was asking a bit too much, heheh. It ran, but it uses over 500M of textures, as the warning indicated, so it choked a bit. I'm getting FEAR and Oblivion at some point in time - should be interesting to see what it does with those.

All in all... I'm a VERY happy Yak :D

Listen Dude i spent 3 weeks trekking in Nepal and i NEVER came across a happy Yak. In fact they seem genetically to be in a constant bad mood, and are ready to stick you with those horns at the slightest provocation.
