Budget Gaming pc - where to buy ..

Hi,
Looking at getting a gaming pc that will atleast run Battlefield 3 reasonably smooth. Found this one at EveTech for under R3800. Is this pc ok to use or can you suggest a better pc at similar price or less?

Be very careful of using PSU's that come with cases most if not all of them are not gaming orientated and will fail if pushed to do anything near their rated wattage. Also that Pc will not run Battlefield 3. You will need a better Power supply and a dedicated graphics card.

Give us your budget and I will see what I can come up with.

The picture shows a Antec Sonata case, phone them and ask them if that is actually what you get and what PSU it comes with.

The only thing you are gonna play with that GPU is Scrabble & Angry Birds :D

My suggestion would be to up your budget to R5k. Do you have any existing components you can use?

If you're in Durban then you should check out PC Zone's pre-built computers. The full Core i5 2500k system with a 1TB Hard Drive is going for R4099 currently. The GPU built in on the i5 chip may not run Battlefield but you can always add a GPU later on :)
Actually, the GPU on the chip is something like a GT420 so it's still better than the on board 6100.

The Geforece 6100 is like already 8 years old. It's okay for an entry-level PC.

Thanks, will check it out. No, i dont have any components except for DVD writer.The machine I need replacing is a core2 duo that just packed up now.
