the link is microsoft, but why is it unprotected like that?
 
its a community preview edition ... which will have a limit on days of use... but they generally only make it available to msdn suscribers,etc. ... definitely strange for them to leave it open like this
 
A bud of mine downloaded it for me. Is it going to ask for a serial number ?

You are going to need a valid Vista Product Key to install it.
 
for those interested in downloading it, i've allready done so, and installed. its the newer build 5308.20 and my absolute opinion - ITS A DOG its horrible.

all the graphics has been disabled, and you have to do several mods to get them up and running. some apps won't install in Vista, and it is LANK slow!.

Preferred Beta 1 over Beta 2 anyway..., besides, as far as i know, MS is re-writing 40% of the code as its all flawed - this is why they have delayed the launch till 2007.

Quite honestly, a waste of 2.2gigs of your cap!.

They are not rewriting 40% ... that story was laid to rest and shot full of holes last week already.

Interesting, would have to read up again about it. Pitty Vista doesnt work well at all atm. the First Beta ran quite smoothly, but had its flaws. This Beta... Eish, like pulling water from a rock.

Quite a mission to navigate thru Vista's System Explorer!

Maybe someone can tell me this : You can either install "Client" or "Server" i've installed Server, and not happy with it, would "Client" be any better ???
 
I guess it might be better in "client" mode. The closest ive come to Vista is the pictures on the internet. :`(

Get the newest version (2.0) - I got the email today. Fixes this problem, among other fixes and enhancements. :cool:
