Was pleasantly surprised to see this A2 for the first time in Stellenbosch, can't recall when last I saw one. By the looks of it the car must have been around for quite sometime. I think the reason I like A2s is that the roads are not saturated with them like most other VAG products :p

Sies, your taste in cars is appalling. I sure hope that doesn't apply to women too, otherwise your reason for marrying an obese, aboriginal goth with clit piercings is because you don't see them every day.
 
i actually drove one a couple of times in germany, the 1.4l tdi, really really nice little car and the fuel consumption is great.. like 4.5l of diesel on a 100 km. good ride quality and some of them are really specced.. those cars are really light cause they are made of aluminium. i would want a little car like that here...
 
Yes, it was a flop, and yes it was a pretty off the wall car with its no-bonnet service hatch effect and 3 cyl diesel engines - but thats what makes it so unique and funky. I mean, just look at that wiper, its much cooler than the single wipers you get on a Merc or Uno. Plus, car was made to be economical to run and it succeeded at that.

I think the reason why it is one of the few VAG products I like is because of its unique nature, funky looks, and the fact that its not everywhere I look. Seriously, most VAG products are sombre and boring to begin with and when there are so many of them around it becomes very easy to get annoyed with them - even to hate them. The A2 however is not like that, I hope I see this little tike around more often in Stellenbosch.

I think I will suggest that Audi and VW send pictures of their next models to you Roux, and if you like it.. they shouldn't make it because it will be ugly and a flop.
 
In a way I can see where you are coming from. This is an uniquely styled VAG, something regular customers loathe. They like boring and sombre euroboxes and hatches. Just look at the Golf5 and its transition to into the Golf 5.25 (Golf 6). Then there is the Porsche 911 that has not changed since who knows when.

So yeah, I get that most VAG fans will hate the A2. I'm just thankful it caught my eye ;) Well, was not that hard really, its so cute!

I hear where you're coming from, Rouxenator... it is certainly, *ahem*, unique. I think it was interesting as an engineering exercise, what with its aluminium construction, packaging and small diesel motors - I'm sure it taught many lessons. I suppose it was just a little too far ahead of its time for its own good, but it'll be looked back on as a precursor to where cars at large are invariably headed.

That being said, VWAG's strength arguably lies in the fact that many of their models are rather sombre. It necessarily follows that they're inoffensive and unlikely to polarise the buying public; the wider you cast your net, so to speak.

Seen the new GTI cabrio? ;)

AFAIK his taste in woman tends to be non-existent.
 
I thought I was gonna open this thread and see something cool like a Corrado G60.. let down :)
