Nedbank to launch banking app ‘shortly’ – CEO

Is Nedbank still using the world's most primitive online banking system?

Can't wait to see what their app looks like

I'm with them so that's good news. I've been thinking about switching banks, but then I remember that I closed my Standard Bank and FNB accounts a few years ago because I wasn't happy with their service, the huge queues and banking charges. Nedbank doesn't do much very well, but they don't do much wrong either. I've always thought of ABSA as swindlers and avoided them, based on my dad's experience with them while I was growing up.

I'll be interested to see what this looks like tbh...

I'm hoping Nedbank will up their "IT" aspect soon, because they are lagging somewhat.

FNB Leads, Others Follow!

+1

Really don't have anything to complain about them and their app just made life easier! Will definitely help Nedbank's cause if they can bring out something on par - I left them for FNB a few years ago - service was shocking - maybe less human interaction will improve service :p

suppose I'll only be able to try it to a certain limit, not being a Nedbank customer anymore.

On another note, while I enjoy the FNB app it does have a certain clunkiness to it at times - beggars can't be choosers now, but not saying it's perfect!

well it's about time

then again, nothing ever happens fast at Nedbank

I bank with Nedbank. Worked for them a few years ago. I'm not holding my breath.

It is probably a bookmark shortcut that takes you to their full website...

Yeah, I was being facetious.

Does the Nedbank app only work on the iPad 1 with iOS 4.3 on?

Launching apps on the Apple store seems to be such a tedious process as compared to Android - our devs have to wait up to 2 weeks for approval for a release at times, whereas Android's ready in hours

hehe - when we were first applying for our developer status or whatever, we had to FAX Apple our details - wouldn't accept it via e-mail! You fax an American number, then get called by a British guy who requests more info - via fax again....wtf

Great news!!!! Hopefully it will be available before 2020!!!
I'm just wondering why Nedbank takes so long to respond to other banks' technology advances ...

I sincerely hope so! I have been banking with Nedbank since 1990 and have received very good service. Yesterday I told a consultant I am considering leaving Nedbank since they do not stay abreast of technology, deals etc. I know I will lose the service component, but other banks do have better service charge options. Fortunately I am seeing my private banker on Monday to see if Nedbank will offer me a competitive option. (I honestly hope they do!)
