Uncapped ADSL from R109 per month launched by Openweb

DSTV should learn a thing or two from Openweb! As far as I can tell Keoma is always trying to bring down pricing rather than increase it every year - I respect Openweb for that!

DSTV needs to make up for the millions they spend to keep the rugby contracts...
To bad JuJu is gone he could have nationalised rugby!!!

Mmmmm tempting, but mweb do little shaping during the day my downloads are fast. Going to take a lot of good reviews to get me to move from mweb. But that said, damn good pricing from openweb, should attract a lot of new users.

I wouldn't go close to Openweb - there call service and support is shocking! Be warned.

So after how much gigs do they shape you?

Well, with Afrihost you get shaped to 200kbps when going over 20GB, and this is with the 384kbps line.

So I think Openweb should be the same or maybe a bit better, but I would also like to know the definite answer to your question, someone here must know??

To the contrary. Openweb has the best support I have come accross. The many positive reviews on Hellopeter is a good example of this.

I'll agree with that. Their support is pretty good but saying that their internet packages suck during the day is an understatement. On 1mbs I would get throttled down to 8-12kbs from 8am to 6pm.
The first month I was with them it wasn't so bad but after that I just got ridiculous.

Moved over to mweb about 6 months ago, good internet service during the day and night, I've had almost now problems and when I did, I was helped by support really quickly.

Personally, I wouldn't go back to openweb again it they payed me.

I've had no problems with their support either. The only problem was that in the past I had to make use of their support so often because the account speed dropped.

This Openweb promotion is only available to new subscribers.

so is the new price of 109 a limited promotion that will revert back to normal price after a month or three? Other wise I can see a few irate subscribers here.

either way well done open web. I like companies that shake up the market.

According t their website, it's for life

Gonna take a lot to get me away from MWEB...
throttling at mweb is non existent for me really...
grab stuff from their news server for free...web is fast 24/7...

Openweb have different packages to suit different people. If you chose the wrong package it's your own fault, not Openweb's. I've been on their Gold package for a while now and couldn't be happier.

does that mean that this package is like axxess's R99 JustSurf uncapped account- great for surfing but not so great for downloading?

No, Openweb's OpenBrowse is equivalent to Axxess's JustSurf Uncapped. Their Standard Uncapped accounts are the same as Axxess's Standard Uncapped Accounts.

Limited to the first 200 customers who take up the offer at each line speed.

Edit: I understood 600 customers, but perhaps you are right, the first 200 at any line speed. Not very clear.

So I've heard good news and I've heard bad news... but I haven't heard many opinions of OpenWeb's STANDARD uncapped accounts. ._. Speeds achieved, etc... I'd like to hear a few opinions?
I am...severely tempted. But so far when looking around I mostly just see people talk about the other accounts. Any help here?
