At Loftus, they have an advert that flashes about reporting incidents of racism, crudity, violence, threats, etc by smsing your seat number to the security and they will come and help. A perception of such a problem has previously existed. I say perception because I probably have rose tinted glasses. As a seasoned Loftus attendee, I have never seen or been involved in incidents where I felt uncomfortable (save for the S14 final in 2009 when the security told me to behave) to the point that such an ad would be warranted. THAT SAID, does a similar campaign exist at Newlands? If not, it is something they should consider.
I never feel comfortable going to Ellis Park for these reasons and I don't see why I should be forced to deny my team because the home stadium is intolerant.
I will say this for the Shark Tank: best visitor stadium experience ever! They do not intimidate you because you're a BULLS fan (because, you know, we're tough!) nor are you made to feel unwelcome.
