IAN TIMMERMAN: Yes, we don’t like to see our share price fall that quickly for our shareholders, no.
 
I listened to this on radio. It was interesting to hear that "we don’t actually refer to customer satisfaction, because we don’t want to isolate it to the customer experience when dealing with Telkom. We prefer to say “customer centricity”, because we’re looking at right across the product range. So it includes having the right products at the right price with the required reliability." That really made me laugh. Right products (128Kb ADSL called broadband?), right price (no comment needed here), and required reliability (look around the forum for comments on this aspect). That's not even touching on actual "customer experience"...

You know, in the future customers are going to want the triple-play, you know video on demand, IPTV and that is an unfortunate thing.

Telkom's always been on bout how new an great triple play is gonna be. How their going to be one of the first in the world to release it.


meanwhile virgin has released quadplay :)

Mobile/fixed/video/internet.

all in one package.
Now that's a product worthy of admiration.

I want to be able to afford 128k ADSL, before I will even start to consider getting all the nice extras, like tripple play, etc. Put that in your “customer centricity” and smoke it
 
hrm guess we should watch for a big shift in ownership of shares.. btw speaking of shares did that list ever ever get published? or is pushed under the rug like so many things.

It is only unfortunate (if this quote is correct that is) for Telkom because they don't want to provide these services. If Telkom could get away with keeping its legacy services like analogue voice telephony going it WOULD! Lucky for South Africans the world is not waiting for Telkom...

2 days before I get my long range wireless LOS test done in Centurion to hook up with the Pretoria Wireless Project. Just one of the few personal things I do to give a big UP YOURS to the DoC and Telkom. Not that it will help much yet, but just the fact that I will be communicating on my PC without using Telkom is a step in the right direction for me personally. One small step for me, one giant leap for my computer! :D

Then the SNO better provide triple/quad play and VoD etc...coz people are just gonna end up moving from SA if nothing gets done..I know I'm tempted to go overseas
 
@ic - interesting theory. I wonder if there are means to detect something like this.
I mean the share price will probably go back to it's upward trend (over the next couple of days), but is it possible to determine if Telkom bought their own shares back?
