Hello,

I can get a decent deal on the above mentioned TV for about R4000, my question is how can I find out what panel is in the TV (Samsung? Sharp?) and is it worth forking out an extra R800 or so rand for an equivalent Samsung 40" LCD 1080p?

Thanks

Please don't waste your money buying those Mecer screens. Mustek looks for the cheapest screens they can find in the east, slap the Mecer name on it and sells it as that. Rather spend the extra bucks on a decent screen. You'll be happy you.

The truth you shall find in the warrantee - what exactly does it say and how much effort will you encounter if it breaks. Also, what does it look like when receiving signal from a HD 1080p bluRay disk?

I call BS. I have a 37" Mecer LCD that I was given for free by Mecer in a competition. Have had it for 5 years with no issues.

To watch TV.

Could you try conducting yourself correctly as per forum etiquette?

I would love to play along, really. But you are the one who sh*t me out for supposed "trolling". I am simply asking you not to be hypocritical, which you are doing with your constant trolling?

That or start your own thread, grow up, etc.

Oh my, look who's talking. Its self evident, I've seen your comment as a deliberate attempt to make the original request irrelevant - his question is quite clear and he expects a clear answer. My post was pointing this out, factually without any adjectives whatsoever. You have now turned emotional as you realise....

Don't talk nonsense ol' sport. Purchases of all kinds esp. TVs rely on analyses of various factors, esp. due to their ability of various uses.

A Mecer TV may be perfect for gaming, but inferior for TV.

Now go find something to do.

Very likely based on experience/facts/internet review sites; branded TVs provide overall a superior PQ esp. TV than cheapies (less evident with HD feeds).

Allow the hijack to stop now so some of us can carry on being productive.

There is no hijack besides yours, why do you not give your experience and then thats that, like all others have done - that's when the hijack will stop. Your question was inviting conflict and repetitive debate as all threads that you are involved in does.

A friend of mine has the 42" model and well in quality terms it was like my old Sinotec, okay but not brilliant, the R800 difference in price doesn't really justify purchasing it to be honest.

+1000 - Excellent Post

Only with the likes of you around, salivating at any attempt to troll and cause conflict.

Piss off now and stop trolling me.

My exact findings.

Interestingly the only common denominator is yourself, as you actually admit in the quote above. You actually do fail dismally in trying to make me out as the troll by calling me that - its your behaviour and choice of communication that shows the truth.

The common denominator is your repetitive unnecessary instigative trolling, and my repetitive asking for you not to troll me, leading to threads being repetitively derailed by you (the only offender). A high and mighty hypocrite too, guilty of exactly what you accuse others of. :D DIAF.

I rest my case.
