Good day all,
I'm cancelling my Web Africa 1Mbps Home Uncapped account today with effect 31 March 2012. I'm looking for a good ISP to move to which fulfill my needs. I'm having line issues which can't be resolved and is leading to huge frustration. I'm located in Tokai (Cape Town).
I had a 4Mbps account but due to the distance from the exchange (5+km) I could only sync at 2Mpbs with huge unstability. There is two DSLAM's in close vicinity (the furthest one being 1km and the closest 500 metres) but a Telkom techie called me and informed me it's not "full" DSLAM's so they can't connect me to it
Weird thing is that my line was installed after the exchanges were installed.
I would prefer to have a 4Mpbs account but it seems I'm stuck on 1Mpbs until Telkom eventually moves my line. I've read on some forums that Openweb has bad support and others claim extemely good service.
I mostly use my line to download, play online games and video streaming. A nudge in the best direction would be greatly appreciated
